Tips / Safety

Most travelers use vacations as an excuse to leave their healthy habits at home and engage in gluttonous and lazy activities. After working hard for the days off, vacationers long to reward themselves with sugary cocktails and late-night partying. Instead of returning home with a vacation hangover, try to add some of the following behaviors for the perfect relaxing recipe.

Choose your seat wisely. If you are a frequent bathroom user, prone to blood clots (i.e., everyone) or claustrophobic, choose an appropriate airplane seat. Aisle seats tend to offer more freedom to roam as well as legroom, especially when the drink cart is absent from the aisles.

Refrigerate. Try to book a room with a refrigerator and, even better, a kitchen. Preparing your own meals not only saves you money but it means you won´t have to rely on pastries for breakfast and heavy lunch specials at city restaurants.

Book a walking tour. Reserving your spot in a walking tour means exercise plus a dose of local knowledge and history. If you´re not really the tour type, find out where to see the best views of the city or town, and then hike to that point.

Hydrate. This one is pretty much a no-brainer. Flying at high altitudes, skiing at high altitudes and rushing from car to plane to car again will severely dehydrate all the body´s cells. Keep a refillable water bottle with you at all times. If nothing else, at least you will be well hydrated.

After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
