A Bangkok hotel is aiming to set a specific record — to open the world’s highest whisky bar.
The Lebua at State Tower is constructing a new bar that will soar 800 feet in the air on the 64th floor of the building. Called Alfresco 64 – A Chivas Bar, the watering hole claims to be the world’s highest outdoor bar focusing on whisky and “offering connoisseurs and luxury jet-setters the ultimate whisky drinking experience.”
The bar is a partnership of Lebua Hotels & Resorts and Chivas Regal, a Scotch whisky made by the Chivas Brothers. The brothers created a special blend available exclusively at Alfresco 64, marking the first time Chivas Regal crafted an exclusive blend for one partner.
Colin Scott, custodian master blender, Chivas Regal, said the blend is “a unique bottling of some of our oldest and rarest whiskies that were distilled in 1985 or earlier, and individually hand-selected.”
In addition to a range of whiskies, the bar will offer a patio overlooking Bangkok.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
