How To Survive a Bridal Show

Bridal shows are becoming more and more popular among brides. The event serves as a platform for vendors to showcase their best goods and services and to assist brides in the planning process. While bridal shows can be helpful for planning tips and general wedding ideas, they can be crowded and stressful. Follow our tips for surviving a bridal show.

• Reserve your spot. Most bridal shows charge an admission price at the door. While it’s usually in the $5–20 range, many shows offer a discount if you reserve online ahead of time. Some shows even cover the cost entirely if you register in advance.

• Unless you’re desperate for the door prizes, don’t be the first person to arrive. Many attendants line up to be there when the doors open, making the first few minutes of the show hectic and crowded.

• Consider who you want to take. Some brides want to travel everywhere with their entire wedding party, others would prefer to keep it to one family member and/or their maid of honor. If you have a large bridal party and don’t want to fight crowds, stick to one or two loved ones to accompany you.

• Take advantage of deals. Many vendors offer special pricing or discounts on their services to those attending the bridal show. If you are looking for a specific type of service, make sure you seek out a discount.

• Be inspired. Even if you don’t book one of the vendors at the show, use what you see as inspiration for your wedding.
