People don’t usually think of Wisconsin for good coffee, but I had the pleasure of sipping on some of the best coffee I’ve ever tasted at Door County Coffee & Tea Company.
Founded in 1993, this family-owned café is located in Sturgeon Bay, offering a variety of coffee and tea products in addition to gourmet food and snacks. I got the chance to meet founder Vicki Wilson, who gave me a quick rundown on what her establishment is all about.
Door County Coffee sources only the best coffee beans from around the world, restricting their product to Arabica, Specialty Class 1, which is the top 2 percent of coffee beans available. They have more than 100 varieties available, all roasted and packaged right there on the premises. As someone who isn’t a big java connoisseur, I can say even I could taste the difference, from both the coffee pot and with the K-Cups I brought back home.
Door County has a drive-through and ships their product to about 30 states, but I highly recommend a visit to the café. I got to enjoy a delicious breakfast in the late morning, ordering a potato bake with a cup of their Breakfast Blend coffee. My dish was a plate of hash browns, seasoned and baked with cheese, onions and a crunchy top layer. At only $3.75, it was a great deal for a filling breakfast.

Stay at Kona Village on the Big Island of Hawai’i and you may think your experience consists solely of private, residential-style luxury and perhaps the occasional fresh pineapple, but Rosewood Resort has something else a little special. More specifically, Kona Village has its very own Mai Tai Mile, where guests can find four unique and different takes on the Mai Tai. Each distinct drink is inspired by its setting and comes with its own story.
