With a fairly tacky frontage and bright neon lighting, Noodles Soup appears to have taken its design cues from a kebab shop.
However, if you are willing to forgive the unsophisticated surroundings, you are in for a real treat. Slap bang in the center of Brighton, Noodles Soup offers the denizens of this seaside town a healthy alternative to the fast food restaurants that populate the area.
With more than 30 kinds of noodle soup to choose from, you won’t be stuck for choice. Vegetarian options feature heavily, while duck, pork, beef and chicken are also available. The portions are absolutely huge, but you can order a side of wonton or gyoza if you are particularly hungry.
The noodle soups average around $10, which is a great deal given how tasty they are. Add some spicy condiments for the ultimate winter warmer, perfect for bracing yourself against the sea winds.
With space for around 25 people, Noodles Soup isn’t a huge restaurant. However, there is a quick turnover of tables, and most diners come in to eat and leave promptly. Interestingly, there are plenty of customers from Brighton’s Chinese community, which is an encouraging sign.
Next time you are in Brighton, don’t be drawn in by one of the fast food chains. Support a local business and try the delicious food at Noodles Soup; I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
