JadeYoga Mats are so popular, they’ve received the Presidential Seal of Approval. The eco-friendly yoga mats, made of natural (versus synthetic) rubber from the Far East, were featured at last year’s annual White House Easter Egg Roll. First Lady Michelle Obama, along with approximately 1,000 kids, learned a little about yoga while trying out the colorful mats as a part of her Let’s Move! Initiative.

According to JadeYoga founder Dean Jerrehian, who introduced the mats in 2002, “People had never seen anything like this and were thrilled to be able to get a yoga mat that actually gripped. Tapped from rubber trees, natural rubber is a renewable resource. Our mats are made in the United States in compliance with U.S. environmental laws and contain no PVCs — making our mats the first ‘green’ yoga mats.” The company also pledges to plant a tree for every mat sold.

The mats vary in price from $54 to $119, and come in a variety of bright colors, including Sedona Red, Pink, Saffron (yellow), Key Lime, Teal, Purple, Midnight Blue and Olive Green. They even carry a lightweight travel mat that folds up and fits easily into your luggage. So now you can practice traditional yoga using mats that are good for the planet — it’s a win-win! JadeYoga, a division of Jade Industries, Inc., also sells other accessories, such as towels and organic tee shirts. For more information on JadeYoga Mats, visit www.jadeyoga.com.
