Sur La Table is a retail company, selling kitchen and cooking products for aspiring and expert chefs. For those more on the aspiring side, the company offers in-store classes in select locations. Whether you want to learn basics or hone your skills, there’s a class for you.
Begin by searching the Sur La Table website for the class location nearest you. Broken down by state, select your location and gain access to the local calendar of classes. Available seven days a week, weekday classes tend to start in the evenings, after the workday ends. Weekend class times vary, with some starting early in the morning.
Classes are about 2–2.5 hours, depending on the subject. You’ll be working closely with others in your group. Hands-on formats are limited to 16 guests, with demonstration formats open to 32. Kid, teen and adult formats are available. Possible subjects include Spanish dishes, Italian cuisine, cookie decorating, knife skills, date-night meals, stress-free cooking, pasta workshops and sushi skills. Many classes are BYOB, so be sure to call your local Sur La Table to check before you bring that bottle of wine.
