The Cori sells itself as the first modular travel pillow in the world, but it is worth buying?

Anyone who has tried to sleep in transit knows a good travel pillow can be an invaluable companion. The Cori aims to improve on the traditional design by offering support, comfort and portability.

Instead of lugging around a bulky pillow that gets in the way, you can roll the Cori into a ball that fits in the palm of your hand. The modular design allows for better comfort and support thanks to the inclusion of a short cushion, tall cushion and holding strap. These three elements combine to support the head and neck in ways normal pillows cannot.

The Cori will retail for $49 following a successful Kickstarter campaign. While that may sound like a lot compared to the bargain prices you can get on traditional travel pillows, the Cori does make some bold claims.

There are plenty of travel pillows out there which promise the world, and the Cori may be another pretender. However, the design principles look sound and the fact that it packs down to such a small size is an obvious boon, especially for those who like to pack light.
