Baseball, in general, isn’t boring. The crack of the bat, the thud of a 90 mph fastball, the roar of the crowd. There is a reason it’s the national pastime.
While you can’t be promised excitement, minor league baseball is where it’s at when the small town team is in town, be it the Toledo Mudhens or the Hillsboro Hops. Minor league baseball is where future overpaid millionaires are made and their rampant fan bases provide them with a proving ground.
Paying $30 to park, $12 a beer isn’t fun. Nevermind ticket prices, but that’s major league baseball.
Minor league baseball is often the pulse of a town, an opportunity to truly gauge what that town your passing through is thinking.
Tickets are often free if you call a radio station, or cheap as chips without a promotion. There isn’t the hassle of security and a “no re-entry” policy posted at every gate. It is baseball with real people in attendance on a beautiful night.
The rules of the game are the same, but the experience is something completely different.
