Tips / Destination

The New Jersey shore is popular for more than the infamous MTV reality show. There are plenty of things to see and do between the beach and boardwalk. Hit up these spots if you want a great photo op while enjoying the sun and sand.

Barnegat Lighthouse

Affectionately known as Old Barney, this historic lighthouse is located on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. The lighthouse is open to the public daily.

Cape May

For charming beach town vibes, head to Cape May, New Jersey. Take photos of the beach, quaint shops and at the historic Congress Hall Hotel.

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk

A trip to the shore isn’t the same without experiencing the boardwalk. For all the games, rides and boardwalk eats you can handle, visit Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.

Lucy the Elephant

You may already recognize this popular landmark without realizing it resides in Margate, New Jersey. Lucy stands six stories high and celebrates her 138th anniversary in 2019. Guided tours run every 30 minutes for an up-close view of Lucy.

The Stone Pony

This music venue in Asbury Park, New Jersey, is known for helping launch the careers of Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi. Located just off the boardwalk, it’s the perfect spot to snap a shot then head to the beach.

Honorable mention:

Whichever beach town you decide to visit, don’t miss out on taking a beautiful sunrise or sunset photo at the beach.
