A new museum broke ground in Dallas, and it’s anticipated to be a moving, educational experience for guests.
Led by local Holocaust survivors and the Mayor of Dallas, the Dallas Holocaust Museum will offer 51,000 square feet of history when it opens in summer 2019. The museum’s debut will realize a 40-year goal to teach and inspire new generations to advance human rights and combat prejudice, hatred and indifference.
It will feature dozens of video testimonials from local survivors, along with technology-enriched exhibits on genocide, human rights issues and American ideals.
The museum will include a Cinemark XD 250-seat theater, two classrooms, a library, an archive and a special reflection and memorial area.
Given the recent increase in global, national and local incidents of terrorism, anti-Semitism, hate speech and hate crimes, the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum will be a welcome, relevant and incredibly important institution — an essential reminder of the importance of and appreciation for human rights, equal opportunity and respect for others.
Construction is underway at 300 N. Houston St., in Dallas’ historic West End. More information is available at DallasHolocaustMuseum.org.
