The Q&A Hotel in New York’s Financial District is a perfect home away from home for those who dream of living in the big city. Located within a residential building just steps from Wall Street, the guestrooms are easily three times the size of what you’d find in the average NYC hotel and the amenities and perks range from a full-sized kitchen with service for eight to a downstairs grocery store offering both typical groceries and ready-to-eat gourmet food items.

Q&A Hotel welcomes guests in a tucked-away lobby that’s quiet, calm and an escape from the bustling city streets outside. The first floor also offers a hip coffee shop and a separate set of elevators for permanent residents. After checking in at the modern and sleek front desk, you can head upstairs via the separate guest elevators.

The halls are similarly quiet and feature quirky artwork and little aside rooms with seating, coffee and business stations. There are more than 100 guestrooms and several kinds to choose from, including studios, one-bedroom suites and two-bedroom suites. During my stay, I enjoyed a one-bedroom suite with an office.

My guestroom opened immediately into the small office, with its eclectic wall decor and furnishings. To the right was the first bathroom of two, with white subway tiling and a quirky owl looking down on guests from above the mirror. Further on into the space, a full kitchen with stainless-steel appliances (fridge, stove, oven and dishwasher), a small bar and plentiful cabinetry awaited. A small round table provided seating near the kitchen, while a large sectional and coffee table sat against the far end of the room, where a large window let in lots of natural light. To the left of the living area was a spacious bedroom with a large walk-in closet and en suite identical to the first bathroom. Ample storage space was available throughout (so much so you could practically move in). Though the suite was large, the high ceilings made it feel infinitely larger.

Other additional amenities include laundry services for those who stick around for a while (the average length of stay for a Q&A guest is five days, but some stay longer, including those in town for business or even season-long internships) and a full gym in the basement with classes and spa services. A full-service lunch and dinner restaurant is currently under construction on the first floor, slated to open by the end of the year. WiFi is complimentary.

For a taste of city living in apartment-style accommodations, look no further than Q&A Hotel.
