Global fitness company Zumba ® partnered with Royal Caribbean to create the first-ever Zumba ® cruise, departing Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Jan. 25, 2016. The five-day cruise on Independence of the Seas travels to Falmouth, Jamaica, and Labadee, Haiti.
Cruise-goers can create their own Zumba ® experience while onboard, with Zumba ® -themed classes available daily led by 130 celebrity instructors from around the world. There will also be Beto Unplugged classes led by Zumba ® creator Beto Perez. All classes are accompanied by live music and DJs.
The private island experience in Labadee will feature an exclusive live concert with Caribbean artists. The ship’s amenities include an ice skating rink, rock climbing wall, on-board nightlife, a casino, multiple restaurants and a spa.
“We wanted to create a way to keep the party going and offer Zumba ® fans around the world a chance to celebrate and dance together outside the class setting,” said Alberto Perlman, CEO and co-founder, Zumba ®. “Whether you’re exploring exotic islands, building friendships or looking to fill your days with Zumba ® classes led by our best instructors, this is going to be the happiest cruise to ever set sail.”
Founded in 2001, Zumba ® is the largest branded fitness program in the world, with more than 15 million weekly participants in more than 200,000 locations in 180 countries. Learn more about the cruise at zumba-cruise.com.
