Set on a promontory between two bays, Sestri Levante grew in popularity recently due to its unique layout, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, lovely boutique hotels and its laidback vibe compared to other Riviera destinations. It’s also less expensive without sacrificing the Riviera’s natural beauty and small-town charms.

Trends / Top Trends

Luxury travel network Virtuoso recently named its hottest hotels to keep your eye on this year. From exotic locations like Grenada to popular spots like New York City, these new properties are spread all over the globe. Regardless of where your travel plans take you in 2019, you’re sure to find one from the list you won’t want to miss.

Silversands Grenada

This minimalist hotel sits on Grand Anse beach. It just opened in December, so is still fairly new. You can expect guest experiences including organic farm visits and waterfall chasing.

Anantara Quy Nhon Villas

This new Anantara luxury property opened in November in Vietnam. An all-villa hotel, it sits on 18 acres with tropical gardens. It’s rather exclusive, with room for only 26 villas and each comes with its own infinity pool, wine cellar and designated butler.

Belmond Cadogan Hotel

In the United Kingdom, the Belmond Cadogan Hotel features 54 guestrooms, most suites. It’s between Chelsea and Knightsbridge and the grounds include a private garden and tennis court.

Six Senses Bhutan

Opening this winter, this 82-suite Six Senses property is made up of five different resorts. Each has certain unique touches, but all combine for a truly luxurious experience with Six Senses’ signature qualities.

Rosewood Hong Kong

Also opening this winter, the Rosewood Hong Kong gives guests views of the city’s Victoria Dockside arts and cultural district. It occupies 43 floors of a multiuse tower and has a great waterfront location.

The Lodge at Blue Sky

In Park City, Utah, you can stay at The Lodge at Blue Sky this spring and enjoy all the nature your heart could desire. A 3,500-acre ranch, there’s lots to do regardless of the season, from skiing and snowshoeing to horseback riding and fly fishing.

Hotel de la Ville

In Italy, you can stay at the top of the Spanish Steps just a short walk from Trevi Fountain in an 18th-century palazzo. The hotel, also opening in the spring, features three restaurants, a rooftop bar with views of Rome and a two-floor spa and wellness facility.

Equinox Hotel, Hudson Yards

In New York City, Equinox Hotel Hudson Yards opens in the summer. The first luxury-lifestyle property for the Equinox Hotel brand, it’s located on the West Side.

Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti

Lastly, in Italy, this ski resort opens in the summer with 23 wellness residences and 88 suites. Sitting on a mountainous, picturesque plot of land, you can expect lots of all-natural touches, light and open space.

Platform Helps Remote Workers, Business Travelers Find Work-Friendly Hotels

If you’ve ever attempted to work on the go — not necessarily for a business trip, but just because your job offers the flexibility of remote working — you may have struggled with working from your hotel room. Your options are typically plugging your laptop in next to a tiny in-room table, if you’re lucky, or you’re stuck answering emails from your hotel bed — hardly conducive to productivity.
