Top 5 / Africa

There is a different, wild experience to be had in Kenya any direction you turn. If you have an adventurous spirit, here are some top wild experiences to have in the African country.

Overnight on a Dhow

There’s a real sense of freedom on the Indian Ocean. Spending the night on a renovated Dhow boat gives you a luxurious and adventurous experience at the same time. You’ll be served gourmet meals, swim in ocean waters, sail into the sunset and sleep under the stars. Does anything sound better than that?

Visit a Native Tribe

There are numerous and diverse tribes in Kenya, most of which welcome visitors if you have a well-informed guide. Prepare to feel like you’ve stepped into National Geographic magazine. You may be taught to dance, help the little kids milk their goats and may even be served chai tea inside a cow dung hut.

Feeding a Giraffe at Giraffe Manor

It may be pictured on every influencer’s Instagram account, but Giraffe Manor does a great job keeping its authenticity by focusing on conservation efforts. The famed Giraffe Breakfast should not be missed, as you may be joined by some curious, long-necked friends who pop in to say hello through the windows!

Kenya Choppers into the Suguta Valley

If you’re going to splurge on one activity in Kenya, let it be this. Kenya Choppers will take you straight into the raw, unfiltered wilderness of the Great Rift Valley’s Suguta Valley. You may just find yourself catching a baby alligator, landing on the top of a volcano and leaping down sand dunes — all in the span of an hour.

The Great Migration

Seeing The Great Migration is a quintessential Kenyan experience. More than 2 million wildebeest and zebra cross the Serengeti Plains as they follow the new grass brought on by seasonal rains. Bonus points if you watch thousands of wildebeest cross a river from a helicopter.

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides.
