Greek islands are always a popular travel destination, but, if you’re looking for one that can provide the quintessential island experience without the overwhelming crowds and tourist traps, Kythnos should be on your radar.

This spot in the Cycladic chain of islands in the Aegean is close to Athens. That means you won’t spend all your time and money traveling to get there and will have more time to hit the incredible beaches and relax in a seaside taverna with a glass of wine and plate of grilled octopus.

Kythnos is one of those islands frequented by Athenians and often overlooked by tourists, making it an ideal place to experience the Greek island like a local. It is a sleepy haven for relaxing and enjoying life at a slower pace. With sailboats dotting the quiet harbors and white-washed buildings freckling the landscape, the effect is a picturesque Greek island scene characteristic of the island chain.

The island has miles of beautiful beaches for soaking up the sun and dipping in the aquamarine waters of the Aegean, but it also has plenty of other great things to experience. The island’s geography is rugged and wild, making it ideal for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts. One of the island’s biggest draws for visitors are the thermal hot springs located on the northern part of the island. Known for the potential healing properties, they are the only thermal springs in the Cycladic Island chain.

At night, the sleepy island comes to life to converge on Akrotiri Nightclub. Locals and tourists alike all seem to find their way to this lively spot, located on an outcropping of land that overlooks the sea beneath, making it an ideal location to enjoy the crisp sea air while meeting new people and dancing the night away.

Platform Helps Remote Workers, Business Travelers Find Work-Friendly Hotels

If you’ve ever attempted to work on the go — not necessarily for a business trip, but just because your job offers the flexibility of remote working — you may have struggled with working from your hotel room. Your options are typically plugging your laptop in next to a tiny in-room table, if you’re lucky, or you’re stuck answering emails from your hotel bed — hardly conducive to productivity.
