Dzenita

This little spot serves traditional Bosnian food that won’t break the bank. You can get a decent meal here for as little as $5, including a kind of meat and herb ravioli known as klepe. Highly recommended.

Konyali

Try some Turkish food at this place, with main dishes ranging $5–16. There is Turkish pizza known as pide for $7, or beef skewers and rice for $5.

Pod Lipom

Locals swear by the dolma at this place, with the meat-stuffed vegetables supposedly the best found in the city. Not the cheapest place to eat, but certainly still on the budget-friendly side.

Street Food in Bravadžiluk

If you just want a quick snack, you are spoiled for choice on this street. Pick up a few dishes as you stroll along and you could easily be satisfied by the time you reach the end. Perfect for a warm summer’s evening when you don’t fancy a proper sit-down meal.

Find an Ascinica

These basic restaurants specialize in cheap and hearty meals. One of the oldest in town is called Ascinica Hadzibajric in Bascarsija. You won’t find a menu anywhere; just choose from the pots of food on the counter.
