Situated in one of Washington State’s most picturesque landscapes, White River Campground in Mount Rainier National Park makes the best basecamp if you visit the area in search of salmon and trout. If you hope to blend your late-summer camping trip with a little beach visit, Assateague Island National Seashore is the place to do so. The barrier island near Maryland and Virginia is home to wild horses, nearly 40 miles of beach and ocean-side camping.
