Destinations / Europe

Heading to Europe this summer? If you’ll be visiting or within easy reach of Switzerland, you might want to make tracks for one of these highly anticipated festivals and events.

Septembre Musical

Taking place May 30–June 8, this long-standing event is the second-oldest classical music festival in Switzerland. For the event’s 77th year, the theme is French masters. Expect to attend symphony and chamber orchestra performances held in swoon-worthy settings.

The Montreaux Jazz Festival

Also in June, this jazz festival (June 30–July 15) offers 16 days of concerts. Some events are free, and past performers have included world-famous musicians such as Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, Prince and others.

Festival de la Cité

During the same timeframe, July 4–9, Festival de la Cité celebrates the arts in Lausanne, with nearly 500 free performances. No matter what kind of arts you’re into, from music to theatrics, comedy to street acts, you’re sure to find an event to fit your fancy.

Paleo Festival

If rock tunes are more your style, visit Switzerland for the long-running Paleo Festival, July 17–23. As Europe’s largest open-air festival, it attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, with hundreds of performances set across seven stages in Nyon.

Platform Helps Remote Workers, Business Travelers Find Work-Friendly Hotels

If you’ve ever attempted to work on the go — not necessarily for a business trip, but just because your job offers the flexibility of remote working — you may have struggled with working from your hotel room. Your options are typically plugging your laptop in next to a tiny in-room table, if you’re lucky, or you’re stuck answering emails from your hotel bed — hardly conducive to productivity.
