Hawai’i recently welcomed its newest hotel, Romer Waikiki at the Ambassador, on Oct. 1. The opening celebrated its recent top-to-bottom, multimillion-dollar renovations of the formerly known The Ambassador Hotel Waikiki.

The 286-room hotel offers rooms in a variety of layouts for every traveler, from large, two-bedroom suites with wraparound lanais to quirky bunk-over-queen rooms. All rooms incorporate the shades and shapes of Oahu’s tropical scenery.

The rooms and suites aren’t the only thing blending Oahu culture with hospitality. Romer Waikiki at the Ambassador offers chakra-balancing meditations for download, astrology readings bookable through the in-house astrologer and board games, and a beach reads book library tucked within the lobby.

The hotel also partners with local businesses across the island to create custom and unique experiences for guests, from discounts to freebies and more. Tailored excursions can include made-in-Hawai’i, swim-in film series and off-the-beaten-path bike excursions. Guests can even make use of a dedicated “Aloha Line” for advice from anywhere across the island.

Coffee and light bites await from the Good Morning Waikiki cart, while daily afternoon welcome parties greet guests with drinks from Waikiki Brewing Co. A snack cart with local favorites debuts in the lobby every night, 8–11 p.m., for any late-night cravings.

Your options are typically plugging your laptop in next to a tiny in-room table, if you’re lucky, or you’re stuck answering emails from your hotel bed — hardly conducive to productivity.
