‘Tis the season for generosity, giving and overspending. Recover from the holiday season with these money-saving tips.
Set a Budget
Set a strict budget for yourself and stick to it. Whether grocery shopping or getting gas, shop around and stick within a tight budget. Cut out unnecessary spending, like shopping after-holiday sales.
Dine In
Bring your lunch to work and cut out frivolous spending, like Uber Eats and other delivery services. Delivery fees and taxes add up and groceries can save some significant coin over the course of one month.
Plan Free Fun
Plan free fun for yourself and friends to avoid the “do you want to get drinks?” conversation. You’ll save money, catch up with friends and have fun for little to no coin. Check out the fun in your area and get planning.
Pause Subscription Services
If you’re the account holder for a variety of streaming services, consider pausing a few for a couple months. Whether that means you’re taking a break from your Fab Fit Fun box, Stitch Fix or Trunk Club, it can seriously add up. After long enough, you may not even want to resume.
Give Yourself a Break
Remember your generosity was thoughtful and appreciated over the holidays and don’t beat yourself up about it.
