The top 20 European wellness destinations are:

  1. Paris, France
  2. London, United Kingdom
  3. Helsinki, Finland
  4. Copenhagen, Denmark
  5. Vienna, Austria
  6. Prague, Czech Republic
  7. Edinburgh, United Kingdom
  8. The Hague, Netherlands
  9. Rotterdam, Netherlands
  10. Amsterdam, Netherlands
  11. Oslo, Norway
  12. Madrid, Spain
  13. Luxembourg, Luxembourg

  15. Reykjavik, Iceland
  16. Vilnius, Lithuania
  17. Berlin, Germany
  18. Stockholm, Sweden
  19. Munich, Germany

Paris took the top spot on the list thanks in part to ranking highest for health care, least pollution and most spas (more than 1,000). London came in second, with its record-breaking number of green spaces. With the highest happiness ranking on the list, Helsinki comes in third place overall. No. 4 on the list, Copenhagen offers free healthcare and a healthy work-life balance. Vienna rounds out the top five with its high quality of life index ranking.

The cities were ranked using seven factors: quality of life, health care, cost of living, pollution, number of parks, number of spas and wellness centers, and happiness levels. For more information on methodology, visit the website.
