The Summer Olympics is a popular event that occurs once every four years, and is an event that allows countries to compete and show off their best talents on the global stage. Most athletes train their entire lives to be on the world’s largest stage for sportswomen and sportsmen. The 2020 Summer Olympics was postponed to summer 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting people worldwide.

The highly anticipated event gets people excited to cheer their countries on while their country’s athletes do them proud. The 2020 Olympics will be held in Tokyo, Japan. It is the country’s second time hosting the event, the first time being 1964. Viewers can look forward to being immersed in the Japanese culture throughout the event. Host countries usually make it their point of duty to share and celebrate their heritage and culture with the world. Education comes in the form of dance, music and film, and are most prevalent during the opening and closing ceremonies.

It is a time for high emotions among the masses as bars are filled with sports patrons cheering on their favorite teams or athletes. It is likely you will find a sport you enjoy being played at the Olympics, so you can participate. Some of the most popular events include track and field, gymnastics and swimming, diving and other team sports. Tensions and emotions can run high when people do not get their desired results, but the Olympics bring people together to celebrate their countries at the end of the day.

Viewers can watch the Olympics on NBC in the United States, as it is the home of the summer 2020/2021 Olympics.
