Las Vegas is in seventh place, with its endless array of fun times for every type of traveler. Animal lovers are particularly in luck, as Las Vegas and North Las Vegas boast the most zoos and aquariums per capita in the country. Vegas also ranked impressively for most ice cream and frozen yogurt shops per capita, perfect for curing your sweet tooth. © Choneschones | Dreamstime.com

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. We have heard this all before, but we all know where you stay in Vegas makes you want to stay in Vegas and, for that to work, you need to find yourself a decent hotel. It is hot as hell in that town and there is no way mediocre lodging will do, especially considering you may not want to leave the hotel if it has a casino and decent buffet. The options are endless and, if your budget is high, you have nothing to worry about. Here are some of the top picks for hotels in Las Vegas and the perks they offer.

The Wynn and Encore Resort

This is a staple and you will enjoy spacious rooms and amenities like the spa, pool and fitness center. They also offer a variety of entertainment including shows, one of which is Diana Ross. So there is really no reason not to stay here.

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel

This hotel has no casino, but that makes for a slightly quieter experience. It does have a good restaurant, spectacular views and is located right on the Strip.

The MGM Grand Hotel and Casino

This is classic Las Vegas and, if you want to try the food, Joel Robuchon is the hotel restaurant to visit. This is one of those hotels you won’t need to leave.

The Waldorf Astoria

This option is always there if you are in the mood for some quiet elegance.

The El Cortez Cabana Suites

Known as a hipster haven, this hotel is more laid-back than the big names listed above. Located downtown, this place has a much more manageable feel.
