Sushi has been a food trend for some time in the British capital, and there is no shortage of great restaurants where you can get your fix.
Down in the southeast London neighborhood of Greenwich, Kitcho is something of a hidden gem. Watch as your food is prepared in the open kitchen, and try to avoid the temptation to order everything on the menu.
Another little restaurant in Greenwich, Zaibatsu bills itself as Japanese fusion cuisine. That means there is great sushi alongside other pan-Asian favorites, like pad Thai and ramen. Good for groups who want to eat in an informal setting.
This Soho joint made its name thanks to Kobe beef, but it’s also great at sushi. It’s an upscale place that is well-designed, and you can expect to pay a pretty penny for your meal.
Head to Hanway Street near Tottenham Court Road station to try this great little spot, run by chef Masayuki Kikuchi. Try the sea urchin rice bowl, but remember to order one day in advance.
Try this spot in Farringdon if you are celebrating a special occasion. The food received rave reviews for flavor, freshness and presentation, and the smart setting means your meal will live long in the memory.
