If you’re looking for a great tasting Italian restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills, Via Alloro is the place to go. On busy Monday afternoon, a group of us were seated on their patio lounge at the back of the restaurant. With warmish December weather and excellent views of the street (great for celebrity watching), it was a perfect setting.
The bread took a few minutes to arrive at our table; however, it was warm and doughy … my favorite.
They have a great list of items on their menu; in order to try the most, we shared a few plates.
First up in the appetizers were the Calamari Fritti. The calamari were excellent and the zesty sauce gave it a nice spicy taste. My colleague shared her Burrata con Pomodoro Pane Grigliato E Olio Nuovo; the soft mozzarella was served with sliced tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and sea salt. It was excellent.
As we started off heavy, my main course was a Cobb salad with halved boiled eggs, chicken breast and crispy bacon. Although it did not stick with my Italian theme, it was good nevertheless.
To top the lunch off we sipped on huge cappuccinos for another 30 minutes or so. Via Alloro is excellent for work meetings or to take out of town guests to experience what Beverly Hills has to offer.
