Bob Marley and great ganja are two things probably most synonymous with Jamaica, so if you find yourself visiting the island nation you might as well engage in a little tour of its greatest exports.
The Nine Mile and Ganja Farm tours are a great way to take in the country while also learning about the locals’ favorite pastime. The farm tour is a fantastic way to learn all about the growing process, as well as the rich history of the crop that dates back more than 400 years in Jamaica.
You’ll head right into the heart of the country through the mountains to a hidden farm where you’ll be taught how to roll like a Jamaican. You might even get to learn about some of the other crops if you’re interested.
Alternatively, the Nine Mile tour takes you to the birthplace and final resting spot of the legendary Bob Marley. You’ll learn about his childhood in the region and how it left a lasting impact on the locals. At the end of the visit you’ll have the option of taking a ganja farm tour nearby, supposedly led by a member of the Marley family. We can’t vouch for the authenticity of that, though.
