Best Views of the Ocean in Australia

Castle Hill in Queensland’s Townsville is a gorgeous peak that offers spectacular views of the city and the ocean. The peak is 286 meters tall and gives visitors a bird’s eye view. There a few trails that lead to this spot and it’s accessible by car so even people who don’t want to hike can visit the summit. Take plenty of pictures at the top; the best times of day to visit are during sunset or sunrise.

Deep in the Freycinet National Park, there is a trail which leads to an opening with a great view of the bay. Wineglass Bay is a picture-perfect bay with clear blue waters. The bay is a two-hour drive from Launceston and then requires additional walking to reach the peak. The path is easy to follow and well worn from the travelers who made the trek before.

The jagged cliffs stretch on for miles and then below them is the ocean. It’s a great view and from June to September visitors might catch glimpses of the Southern Right Whales.
