Tips / Travel

Travel involves a lot of activity, but also a considerable amount of sitting on planes, taxis, buses or trains. If you’re worried about maintaining your fitness routine while traveling, follow these tips to stay in shape while on the move.

Plan your own walking tours

Take hints from travel guides for what to see, check out a map and plan a route that takes you past the sights while allowing you to stop for breaks if needed.

Use your hotel space

Wake up a few minutes early to squeeze in a quick workout in your hotel room. Planks, jumping jacks, lunges and jogging in place are all great ways to get your heart rate up before you take on the day. If your hotel has a gym, even better!

Rent a bike instead of car

Depending on your destination, bicycles are a great way to see the city from a different point of view. Plus, you’ll be able to maneuver the boardwalks, sidewalks and hidden paths that cars cannot access. Some cities even have bike-sharing programs that allow you to rent bicycles for hours at a time.

Read menus before entering restaurants

Nowadays, most restaurants post their menus on their front door or window. Scan the menu before deciding if you want to enter. Does the restaurant use local ingredients? Do they cook with oil or butter? If you’re not sure, ask the host or hostess.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
