San Diego is home to more than 115 breweries. Situated along the Pacific coastline, the city produces many popular beers you’ve likely already tried. These are some of our favorite breweries.
Ballast Point Brewing Company
With four locations in San Diego, and two others in California, there are plenty of opportunities to visit Ballast Point Brewing Company. The Miramar location offers daily tours and food service. Several other locations host food trucks.
Coronado Brewing Company
This family-owned brewery opened in 1996 and expanded to three locations. The brewery and tasting room location in San Diego features a rotating tap of 24 beers, plus two cask engines.
Pizza Port Brewing Company
Pizza Port Brewing Company recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. The brewery started off as a surf-themed pizza spot owned by a home brewer. The business grew and now the brewery serves up award-winning beers from its three locations. You can still order pizza.
Societe Brewing
The newest brewery on our list, Societe Brewing specializes in traditional brewing methods with its beers split into four categories: Out West (hoppy), Old World (ales), Stygian (malty) and Feral (barrel-aged blends).
Stone Brewing Company
Opened in 1996, Stone Brewing Company is one of San Diego’s oldest breweries. What began as a microbrewery has grown to one of the largest craft breweries in the United States, with several company stores and brewery tour locations.
