The Bestival music festival in England earned a reputation for uplifting fun, kindness and positive energy over its 13-year lifespan. Bestival’s reputation even enticed Sir Elton John to headline his first music festival in more than 30 years.
Started in 2003 by a graphic designer, music producer and radio DJ power couple, the festival has grown into a beloved mix of indie, EDM, funk, pop and soul music. Personal touches adorn the festival grounds, such as elaborate stage designs and Big Love, an inflatable church for impromptu weddings.
Much more than music is presented at Bestival, with marching bands, burlesque shows and big-top events scattered throughout the event grounds. The grand finale of the festival is celebrated with an elaborate costume party, or Fancy Dress Parade,on Sunday night. Festivalgoers take the costumes seriously, so attendees should come prepared to interpret the yearly theme.
This year, the four-day festival boasts performers such as The Cure, Wiz Khalifa, Major Lazer, The Human League, Fat Boy Slim and Sean Paul, to name a few. Attendees can venture into pop-up clubs, yoga practices, circus performances, bird sanctuaries, naked dance parties, craft beer breweries and more.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal. Following the recent agreement to increase flights between the U.S. and Chinese governments, the airline now adds four weekly flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG).
