If you are planning a long trip through different climates, a jacket is both a necessity and a burden unless you like the tied-around-your-waist tourist look. Backpackers looking for a warm jacket that can be conveniently packed away, look no further than the Packaway Jackets available from Craghoppers.

Retailing at $97, the Packaway is an all-around jacket that is windproof and features Craghoppers’ ClimaPlus padding, good to about 20 degrees Fahrenheit. There are two lower welted pockets with zippers, an adjustable hem, elastic bound cuffs and a grown-on hood. The Compresslite Packaway Jacket for men is available in black, red, blue and green. Ladies can get the Pumori Packaway Jacket in pink, black and light blue.

The jacket comes with a sack to carry it in. Completely packed down, the sack comes to the size of a shoe. While there are jackets that pack down smaller, most of them are thin and don’t offer a lot of warmth. At just 440 grams, the Compresslite is capable of being an everyday jacket that can be packed away, while still retaining the ability to withstand colder weather.
